2023: Anxiety In PDP As Philip Shaibu Throws Full Support For Osinbajo’s Presidency

Auchi: The Edo State Deputy Governor has “Stirred the Hornet’s Nest” with his declaration of support for the candidacy of Prof Osinbajo. Speaking in Auchi the Edo State Deputy Governor was quoted as saying,

“Your Excellency, just know that you have Edo, you have us, anything that you want to do, you have us and you have God. And by the Grace of God, we will have our own as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023,”

The Deputy Governor made the declaration while speaking at the installation of the Minister of State for Budget & National Planning, Prince Clem Agba as the Oduma of Auchi at the Otaru of Auchi Palace.

He further stated that it was time for men with the right intellect to lead and not Godfathers. Since H.E Philip Shaibu made the declaration a lot of tongues has been sent wagging both within his party the PDP and even the APC.

Definitely, his statement has been received with mixed feelings with many wondering if he was meant to say so, having it in mind that he now belongs to the opposition party the PDP, many queried why he should throw his weight behind the Vice President even when his party the PDP has so many aspirants parading themselves for the presidency.

A curious PDP party member queried, why is our comrade deputy governor throwing his weight behind the vice-president? Does it mean we do not have credible presidential materials in our party?

One Mauzu reacted this way, “Once PDP and wailers start supporting a cause, it’s finished! Osibanjo ambition is dead on arrival.”

According to Omoruyi, “When your enemies start to queue behind you, you need to be careful. The presidency is more than being humble and loyal. It’s a complex seat that needs people who think outside the box. Weird thinking that becomes a reference point in the future. Osinbajo is an obedient civil servant.”

Well, it was not all about complaints as others also were of the opinion that Comrade Philip was on the right track.

Olufunmilayo Titilope had this to say, “If you are in PDP and genuinely love the country. will you see PYO, Atiku the serial contestant, Saraki and others and say you will because of one party that has not paid you to waste your vote? If I’m a PDP member, unless they gift their ticket to SE I will never vote for whoever they bring and I will show the public the reason”

Enabulele in reference to Shaibu’s statement opined that ” Message to All Politicians, come next election…. the majority of Nigeria electorates will not align with Parties but Individuals.
This has been my prayer…. hope it materialises soon.
