The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to completing Section Three of the 61-kilometre Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway in Enugu State within the scheduled timeframe.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the assurance during an inspection of the project site on Wednesday as part of a broader citizens’ engagement tour in the South East.

In a statement released by his media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, Idris emphasized the importance of modern road infrastructure for economic development, road safety, and public welfare. “This project stands as a clear demonstration of the government’s dedication to completing strategic highways across the country for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he said.

The ₦100.8 billion initiative, undertaken by CGC Nigeria Limited, spans a total of 122 kilometres of dual carriageway. Engineer Tony Mbiko, Director of Highways (South East), noted that the Enugu-bound section has already been completed, while work continues on the remaining portion of the expressway.
