Sources within the EFCC, speaking anonymously, disclosed that Sirika underwent extensive interrogation regarding his involvement in the Nigeria Air project. The commission is delving into the project’s expenditures, with charges being prepared for Sirika’s potential arraignment in court next week.
Sirika’s detention, which began on Tuesday night, has continued into Wednesday night, with the former minister undergoing continuous interrogation by EFCC officials.
The investigation has uncovered suspicious activities within the Aviation Ministry during Sirika’s tenure, including allegedly fraudulent contracts. Engirios Nigeria Limited, a company owned by Sirika’s younger brother, Abubakar Sirika, is among those implicated in the allegations.
Sirika’s arrival at the EFCC’s Federal Capital Territory Command on Tuesday afternoon marked the beginning of the interrogation process. He was immediately taken into sessions with investigators to address questions regarding the alleged fraudulent contracts linked to his tenure as Minister of Aviation.
As the investigation unfolds, the nation is closely monitoring developments in this high-profile case, which sheds light on potential financial mismanagement within the Aviation Ministry.
