2027: PDP Unveils Campaign DG, Chairman For Kogi Central

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Dr Salami Etudaiye as the Director-General of its 2027 campaign organisation in Kogi Central Senatorial District, as the opposition party intensifies preparations for the next general election.

Abubakar Karaku was also named the Campaign Chairman, with both officials formally inaugurated during a stakeholders’ meeting led by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

According to IREPORTER Online, the appointments were announced in a statement issued by Mike Idoko, the senator’s media aide, on Monday night.

The newly inaugurated campaign team has been mandated to mobilise voters across Kogi Central and work towards securing victory for the PDP and its candidates in the 2027 elections.

Other members of the campaign organisation include Jacob Anebe as Secretary, Ilyasu Zubair as Head of Operations, Isiaka Uhuanaye as Head of Technicals and Jane Onoba as Head of Welfare.

Speaking during the inauguration, Akpoti-Uduaghan charged the campaign team to intensify grassroots mobilisation and maintain direct engagement with voters throughout the electioneering period.

She said the party should move beyond conventional rallies by taking its message directly to communities, households and polling units.

The senator also encouraged the campaign organisation to accommodate new members and supporters regardless of previous political differences, stressing the need for unity ahead of the election.

She urged party leaders, women, youths, ward executives, volunteers and other stakeholders to work together to ensure that every ward and polling unit in the district was adequately covered.

In his acceptance speech, Etudaiye described his appointment as a major responsibility and pledged to deploy his organisational experience towards building a strong campaign structure across Kogi Central.

He said the assignment would involve more than ceremonial activities, promising an extensive mobilisation effort across Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi and Ogori-Mangongo Local Government Areas.

Etudaiye said the campaign would extend to wards, polling units, streets, markets, campuses and households, while urging PDP members to unite behind the party’s candidates.

He also called for greater participation by women and youths, describing both groups as crucial to the party’s grassroots mobilisation strategy.

The campaign DG promised to run the organisation professionally and transparently, with victory for the PDP as its primary objective.

Meanwhile, Campaign Chairman Karaku called on party members and stakeholders to place the collective interest of the PDP above personal differences.

He urged the campaign team to engage voters peacefully and focus on the party’s programmes, policies and vision rather than personal attacks or divisive rhetoric.

Karaku also appealed to ward leaders, polling-unit coordinators, women and youth leaders and volunteers to work together as a united political force.

He maintained that effective organisation, discipline, unity and sustained grassroots engagement would be critical to the PDP’s chances in the 2027 elections.
