2027: Wike Warns Atiku, El-Rufai, Others — ‘You’ll Face Us When The Time Comes’

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and members of the opposition coalition, declaring they would have to contend with his camp when the time for political battles arrives.

Wike gave this charge on Friday during the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-New Market Road in Gwagwalada, FCT, a project unveiled by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.

Taking a swipe at Atiku’s history of political defections since 1999, Wike mocked the former Vice President’s frequent party switches. “In 2023, they said they would back a man whose story is from 1999 in one party, 2006 in another, 2014 somewhere else, 2019 in yet another, and now 2025 in a new coalition. Is it ‘dem born you born coalition?’” he quipped.

The former Rivers State governor urged President Tinubu to take pride in his administration’s efforts, asserting that despite relentless criticism, Tinubu had succeeded in changing the political narrative.

“Mr President, you should be proud. God has given you life. If some say they won’t be happy, let them. Since they refuse to be happy, may they never be happy — I will always be happy,” Wike said.

He concluded by warning: “Let them not be happy, because they will face us when the time comes.”
