On May 7, 2025, the Abuja civic community gathered to honor Mrs. Tinuke Watti, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development, as she celebrated her 60th birthday and retirement from the federal civil service. The dual event was a heartfelt tribute to a distinguished career spanning over three decades.

The celebration drew the presence of notable dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, accompanied by his wife, Hajia Jummai Abubakar Momoh; the Minister of State for Regional Development, H.E. Uba Maigari Ahmadu; and the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh.

Each of them paid glowing tributes, commending Mrs. Tinuke Watti for her outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to public service.

Mrs. Watti’s journey in the civil service has been marked by steady growth, depth of experience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. She served across key ministries—Finance, Transport, Education, Youth Development, Defence, and Water Resources—earning a reputation for integrity and competence. Her distinguished track record culminated in her appointment as Permanent Secretary in November 2023, a position she assumed after a highly competitive and merit-based selection process.

In his address, Minister Momoh remarked, “Though she retires, her service is not over. Her wisdom, professionalism, and patriotism remain resources we’ll always treasure and call upon.”

The event was a fitting tribute to a remarkable public servant whose legacy will continue to inspire.
