Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has disclosed that his daughter faced bullying at Queens College, Lagos, due to her being identified as his child. According to reports, the incident took place while she was in Junior Secondary School 1.

Udokwu, 58, explained that he and his wife deliberately enrolled their children in public schools to provide them with a normal upbringing despite his celebrity status. Reflecting on the experience, he noted that some senior students would target his daughter solely because of her connection to him.

He added that he chose not to confront the students directly, in order to avoid distractions, allowing his daughter to handle the situation on her own. Today, he said, his daughter can look back and laugh at the episode, although it was challenging for her at the time.

Udokwu emphasized that raising his children in a typical school environment was important to ensure they experienced ordinary childhood interactions. “I have a good family. My kids are grown now. Being born and seeing your father is popular comes with inconveniences,” he said. “I remember when my daughter was in Queens College, some senior students were punishing her for just being my daughter. Today, we laugh about it, but it was not funny at the time. She was in JSS 1. I did not want to confront them directly so as not to distract anyone. We agreed they would attend public school, because I also went to public schools.”
