Adamawa Governor Fintiri Officially Joins APC

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). According to reports, the governor made the announcement during a broadcast to the people of the state on Friday.

Governor Fintiri revealed that his decision to defect was supported by members of his cabinet and other key PDP officials in Adamawa State, who have also joined the APC alongside him. He explained that the move was aimed at fostering the growth and development of Adamawa State.

The defection follows a recent wave of resignations from the Adamawa State House of Assembly, where several lawmakers left the PDP citing issues at the national party level. During a plenary session on Wednesday, Speaker Bathiya Wesley read out resignation letters from himself, Deputy Speaker Mohammed Buba Jijiwa, and at least thirteen other members of the Assembly.

In total, around fifteen lawmakers resigned from the PDP, with most expected to join the APC, while a few were still considering their next political affiliation at the time of the announcement.
