Adeboye Shares Divine Message On Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed what he described as a divine message concerning the pupils and teachers abducted by gunmen in Oyo State, expressing confidence that their release would occur in a dramatic manner.

According to Ireporter Online, the victims were kidnapped on May 15 when armed men invaded three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, including Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, Primary School, Esiele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School. About 32 pupils and teachers were reportedly taken away during the attack.

One of the captives, a mathematics teacher identified as Michael Oyedokun, was later killed while in captivity, a development that drew widespread condemnation and heightened concerns over insecurity in the country.

Speaking in a video recorded during a faith award event in Washington, D.C., Adeboye said the tragic incident compelled him to seek God’s intervention through fervent prayers, particularly after learning that the kidnappers had killed one of the teachers and circulated a video of the act.

The cleric disclosed that the incident also triggered criticism from some individuals who questioned the relevance of prayer amid the growing insecurity, prompting him to seek answers from God during an intense period of supplication.

Adeboye said he subsequently received what he believed was a divine assurance that the abducted schoolchildren would regain their freedom in a remarkable and unexpected manner. He, however, noted that God did not reveal when or how the release would happen, instructing him to leave that aspect entirely in His hands.

He further stated that beyond the fate of the abducted victims, God also revealed to him that those allegedly sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping in Nigeria would eventually face consequences. According to the cleric, he was also shown other future events, although he did not disclose further details.
