All Hell Broke Loose After My Marriage Plans Leaked” – Chris Okafor Speaks Out
According to Ireporter Online, the founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has expressed concern over what he described as sustained online bullying and the spread of unverified allegations against him by bloggers and social media influencers.
Speaking at a news conference held on Thursday in Lagos, the cleric alleged that some influencers deliberately collaborate with individuals to fabricate damaging stories in order to drive traffic to their platforms. He lamented that such practices have caused significant harm to many Nigerians, often without consequences for those responsible.
Okafor’s remarks come amid allegations made in November 2025 by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who accused him of reneging on a promise to marry her after what she described as a long-term relationship. Following the accusation, other individuals also shared negative claims about the cleric across online platforms.
Reacting to the developments, Okafor condemned what he termed cyberbullying and called for stronger regulation of Nigeria’s digital space. He noted that while a few influencers have occasionally been arrested or taken to court, the majority often evade accountability after publishing what he described as false and damaging reports.
The pastor urged the National Assembly to enact legislation that would regulate online activities and ensure that offenders face punishment as a deterrent to others. He also called on cybercrime authorities to intensify efforts in tracking and prosecuting internet-related offences.
Recalling his personal ordeal, Okafor questioned the consistency of the allegations levelled against him, noting that some accusers failed to address glaring contradictions in their claims. He further alleged that accusations from individuals he had never met, as well as renewed claims from his former wife, only surfaced after his plans to remarry became public.
According to him, the allegations escalated after details of his proposed remarriage were leaked by a wedding planner, triggering what he described as a wave of opportunistic attacks aimed at exploiting the situation for attention and financial gain.
Okafor also referenced his divorce proceedings concluded in 2014 at an Ikeja court, stating that the marriage was dissolved on grounds of irreconcilable differences, including infidelity and lack of love. He maintained that no allegations of abuse were raised during the proceedings, adding that the court awarded him custody of his children without objections.
He reassured his church members and the general public that the truth would ultimately come to light, stressing that justice would prevail. Okafor added that in over five decades of his life, he has never been arrested or charged with any criminal offence, describing the allegations against him as deeply painful and unjust.
