According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian actress and singer Angela Okorie has openly supported Italy’s newly introduced restrictions affecting LGBTQ+ parenting rights. The Italian government recently enforced policies that prohibit gay and lesbian couples from raising children, bar non-biological parents in same-sex unions from being listed on birth certificates, and criminalize the use of surrogacy services outside the country.

Reacting through her Instagram story, Okorie endorsed the development, stating that she considers same-sex parenting unacceptable and questioning the emotional and mental suitability of LGBTQ+ couples to raise children. She linked her stance to her religious beliefs, calling for what she described as spiritual cleansing across the world. In her words, “Same-sex couples are not okay. They are not mentally stable to train kids… We declare divine sanitation all around the world in Jesus’ name, amen. All those nonsense must stop.”

In a separate development, Ireporter Online also notes that popular Nigerian content creator Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, widely known as Shank Comics, has addressed backlash following the resurfacing of an old social media post where he appeared to praise the mindset of convicted American rapper, Diddy. The comedian clarified on his handle that the comments were not an endorsement of Diddy, describing the earlier message as a “misguided attempt” to reference a fictional villain rather than real-life conduct.
