Ancelotti: Real Madrid Can Replace Me, I’m Not Concerned

Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian manager of Real Madrid, has acknowledged the possibility that the club may look for a new coach following their quarter-final elimination from the Champions League by Arsenal. The team suffered a 2-1 defeat at home, resulting in a 5-1 aggregate score that advanced Arsenal to the semi-finals.

In statements to the press, Ancelotti conveyed his indifference toward the situation, stating he has no objections to whether his contract ends in 10 days, a month, or even a year.

“The club may choose to make a change (in coaching), whether it’s this year or next when my contract concludes—it’s not an issue for me,” Ancelotti told reporters.

He added, “When my time here ends, I can only express gratitude toward the club. Whether that day comes tomorrow, in 10 days, a month, or a year, my only sentiment will be one of thanks—I’m not concerned about my contract status.”

Real Madrid has been linked with potential replacements, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, a former player, and ex-Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Despite the setback against Arsenal, Ancelotti asserted that his team remains competitive in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the upcoming Club World Cup.

“The team exhibited great effort in terms of attitude, but we couldn’t achieve the desired result,” Ancelotti remarked after the defeat. “To be honest, Arsenal defended effectively, making it difficult for us to create opportunities. While we had more intensity, it ultimately wasn’t sufficient.
