APC Chieftain Warns Tinubu: Save The Party Before It’s Too Late

Idris, a former senior aide to ex-Governor Sani Bello, made the appeal in a statement released on Monday, warning that the ruling party risks suffering a major political setback ahead of the 2027 general elections if immediate steps are not taken to address the situation.

He alleged that the APC in Niger State was gradually falling apart due to the personal interests of a small group of individuals, adding that the internal divisions were weakening the party’s structure and alienating many loyal members.

According to him, several former commissioners, ex-political appointees, serving lawmakers and grassroots leaders are reportedly considering leaving the APC because they feel excluded from the party’s affairs.

Idris lamented that the party many members worked tirelessly to build over the years was now facing disintegration, warning that failure by the President and the national leadership to act swiftly could leave the APC significantly weakened in Niger State after the 2027 elections.

He further stated that the emerging political movement could have a far-reaching impact on the party, stressing that politics should be driven by the people rather than the interests of a single individual. He also disclosed that consultations are already ongoing with community leaders, political stakeholders and grassroots supporters across the state as efforts continue to address the growing dissatisfaction within the party.
