APC Forum To Malami: Nigerians Don’t Want To Hear From You After The Damage You Caused

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has blamed former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for the failures of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

In a strongly worded statement on Friday, the Forum accused Malami of misleading Buhari with poor advice, asserting that Nigerians have lost interest in hearing from him. The group made this known while reacting to Malami’s comments opposing ex-Nasarawa governor Tanko Al-Makura’s declaration that the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc in the APC would not align with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s opposition coalition.

Malami had argued that only the Buhari-led faction of the CPC bloc — to which he belongs — has the authority to speak on the matter, dismissing Al-Makura’s position. But in a swift response, the Forum, led by Chairman Saleh Zazzaga, stated that Malami lacks the moral standing to represent the CPC or speak on party matters.

“Abubakar Malami was a major contributor to the failures of the Buhari administration. His poor counsel and political interference, especially with institutions like the EFCC, eroded public trust. He was responsible for appointing Abdulrasheed Bawa as EFCC Chairman, under whom the anti-corruption war lost direction,” the statement read.

The Forum further accused Malami of playing a central role in harmful policies, particularly the controversial naira redesign policy, which plunged millions of Nigerians into hardship due to severe cash shortages.

“Nigerians are still grappling with the aftermath of his actions. Malami’s legacy is one of impunity and poor judgment. The public has no interest in his political commentary,” the group added.
