APC Gives What Others Can’t’ – Morka On Defections

According to Ireporter Online, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has linked the recent surge of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party’s capacity to provide a credible and effective political platform. Morka made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s morning show, responding to the growing trend of opposition members joining the APC.

Taking aim at the PDP, Morka argued that the party is no longer functioning effectively due to internal disputes, making it unable to offer its members meaningful opportunities for political advancement. He emphasized that the defections should be viewed as a vote of confidence in the APC, not as a sign that Nigeria is becoming a one-party state.

Morka stated, “The PDP is incapable, by its own internal dysfunction, of offering its members any sensible, credible, smart, actionable platform to pursue their political aspirations. When people decamp to the APC, it is an endorsement of the party. It is a statement that the APC is able to offer what the opposition cannot offer, and that is not our fault. When people suggest that the country is turning into a one-party state, that is utterly mischievous because it does not take into account the history and realities of a democratic society like we have in Nigeria.”
