According to Ireporter Online, the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns over a reported plan to disrupt the scheduled visit of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, to the state.

Yusuf Idris, the party’s Publicity Secretary, briefed journalists in Gusau, revealing that certain politicians allegedly hired armed thugs to create disturbances during the minister’s homecoming event, set for Thursday.

Idris explained that the minister’s visit, which includes meetings with party leaders, members, and supporters in Gusau and his hometown of Maradun, has been carefully coordinated. However, he warned that thugs are reportedly positioned along the Gusau–Maradun route, particularly near Tsafe, with intentions to attack the convoy and incite chaos.

The APC urged its members to remain law-abiding and strictly avoid carrying weapons during the minister’s visit. Idris further called on security agencies to take the threat seriously, ensuring that anyone attempting to cause unrest is apprehended and handed over to law enforcement authorities.
