Ashifat Suleiman Secures Top Job As Kwara United’s New Technical Adviser

According to Ireporter Online, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kwara United, has officially confirmed the appointment of Ashifat Suleiman as the club’s new technical adviser.

The confirmation, made public on Wednesday, brings an end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding the coaching position following the exit of former manager Tunde Sanni.

Suleiman, who had been serving in an interim capacity, led the Harmony Boys in three matches, securing a win, a draw, and a loss. His tactical discipline and evident dedication reportedly impressed the club’s management, prompting them to hand him the role on a permanent basis.

Reacting to his appointment, Suleiman expressed gratitude to the management and fans for their confidence in him, assuring them of his total commitment to achieving the club’s goals. “I appreciate the trust placed in me,” he said. “We’ll keep working hard as a team to improve and deliver positive results.”

Kwara United are scheduled to face Rangers International this weekend at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu as they continue their NPFL campaign.

In a related development, the Akwa Ibom State Government has urged Akwa United to ensure they secure promotion back to the NPFL next season. The state’s Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, gave the charge during a visit to the team’s training camp in Eket, where the Promise Keepers are undergoing a closed pre-season program ahead of the Nigeria National League (NNL) kickoff.

Bassey commended the players’ energy and focus during training, emphasizing the need to maintain a top-flight mindset despite their current division status. “Akwa United is not a second-tier team,” he stated. “You must play with the mentality of champions and fight your way back to the top.”

Reports indicate that Akwa United, who were relegated after finishing 18th in the 2024/2025 NPFL season, will begin their NNL campaign against Solution FC on November 8.
