BREAKING: Okpebholo Suspends Edo Commissioner, LPRES Coordinator
According to Ireporter Online, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the suspension of the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa, and the State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (LPRES), Mrs. Ikpikhumi Betsy Aghaku, over what the state government described as an official infraction.
The decision was announced in a statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, who disclosed that the suspension takes immediate effect.
The statement directed both officials to immediately hand over all official documents, records, and government property related to the LPRES Project to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock Development.
In addition, the suspended officials were instructed to report to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government for a comprehensive debriefing on the LPRES Project.
While confirming the disciplinary action, the Edo State Government did not reveal the specific nature of the alleged official infraction that prompted the suspensions. It also withheld details on the duration of the suspension and did not indicate whether further investigations or additional disciplinary measures would be taken.
