President Bola Tinubu has made key appointments in Nigeria’s science, energy, and fiscal oversight sectors. Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu has been named Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) in Abuja, a federal institution responsible for research and development in technology, including the operation of a nuclear research facility.

In a separate appointment, Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael was appointed Managing Director and CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA). President Tinubu also appointed several members to NEMSA’s board, including Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director, Technical; Ikechi Clara Nwosu as South East Chairman; Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris and Igba Elizabeth representing the North Central; Sani Alhaji Shehu for the North East; Adeyemi Adetunji for the South West; Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe for the South South; and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa representing the South East.

Additionally, the President nominated Amina Gamawa from Bauchi and Abdullahi Muktar from Kaduna as Commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the names of the two nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
