Buhari Not In ICU, Only Receiving Treatment — Aide Dispels Rumours

A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has dismissed circulating reports claiming the former Nigerian leader is critically ill and has been admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Ahmad, who served as Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, issued a statement on Thursday to clarify the situation amid mounting public speculation about Buhari’s health.

“It is true that former President Buhari is unwell and currently receiving medical attention,” Ahmad confirmed. “However, contrary to the exaggerated claims circulating in the media, he is stable, responding well to treatment, and we remain hopeful for his full recovery.”

He described the viral reports suggesting that Buhari was in critical condition as misleading and blown out of proportion.

Ahmad also expressed gratitude to Nigerians and supporters worldwide for their prayers and messages of goodwill. “We appreciate the outpouring of prayers and goodwill from his supporters and well-wishers. We continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery,” he added.

The clarification comes as various platforms continue to speculate about Buhari’s health, prompting concerns and anxiety among his supporters.
