Grammy Award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy, has revealed how British supermodel Naomi Campbell played a key role in connecting him with legendary rock icon Mick Jagger.

According to Ireporter Online, the music star shared the intriguing backstory during a guest appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where he opened up about how the unexpected collaboration came to life.

Burna Boy explained that the partnership was initiated through Campbell’s influence, describing how effortlessly she brought both music worlds together. “It’s actually crazy because it was initiated by Naomi Campbell — she made it happen. Before I knew it, I was talking to Mick Jagger, and it felt like we’d known each other forever,” he recounted.

Their musical chemistry, Burna Boy noted, translated seamlessly into the song Empty Chairs, a unique fusion of Afrobeats and classic rock that showcases both artists’ versatility and creativity.

Empty Chairs is featured on Burna Boy’s latest studio album, No Sign of Weakness, which was officially released on July 11, 2025.
