Cabinet Shakeup Tinubu Dismisses Six Brings In Seven Fresh Ministers To Push Agenda

Among the new appointees is Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, nominated for Minister of State, Foreign Affairs. The names of Ojukwu and six other ministerial nominees have been forwarded to the National Assembly for confirmation.

Additionally, Shehu Dikko has been appointed chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), which will now oversee all sports activities following the dissolution of the Ministry of Sports Development. Other notable appointments include Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment and Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation.

The reshuffle also saw ministers like Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Uju Kennedy Ohanenye (Women Affairs), and Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs) lose their positions. President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the outgoing ministers for their service and urged the new appointees to contribute their best to the administration’s priorities.

The president also announced the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Arts and Culture, creating the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy. Furthermore, the Ministry of Niger Delta Development was renamed the Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all regional development commissions.
