According to Ireporter Online, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a change in schedule for Rivers United’s CAF Champions League second preliminary round second-leg clash against Mozambique’s Black Bulls. The crucial encounter, initially slated for Sunday, November 26, will now take place a day earlier—Saturday, November 25—at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with kick-off still set for 4 p.m.

Although CAF did not provide an official reason for the adjustment, the decision effectively shortens Rivers United’s preparation time by one day. The Port Harcourt-based team faces a must-win situation after losing the first leg 1-0 in Maputo. To advance to the group stage of Africa’s elite club competition, they must secure victory by at least two clear goals in Uyo.

In related sporting developments, Nigerian international and Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi has been cleared to feature for FC Porto in their UEFA Europa League fixture against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Sanusi, 26, recently recovered from a calf injury sustained while representing Nigeria during the international break, which ruled him out of Porto’s domestic cup tie last weekend.

Reports indicate that the left-back resumed full training on Wednesday and was declared fit by Porto’s medical team ahead of the crucial European contest. Having featured in the Portuguese side’s opening two Europa League matches this season, Sanusi is expected to bolster Porto’s defensive setup as they seek to consolidate their qualification hopes in Group C.
