Chaos At Matawalle’s Home: One Dead, Six Injured As Welcome Turns Tragic
According to Ireporter Online, a tragic incident unfolded at the Gusau residence of the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, where a stampede claimed one life and left six others injured. The chaotic scene reportedly erupted around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday after an overwhelming crowd gathered to welcome the minister, turning what was meant to be a routine reception into a moment of panic as people surged forward.
Security operatives confirmed that 23-year-old Khalifa Uzairu was rushed to Farida General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The individuals injured in the stampede were identified as Ayuba Sani, Muhammadu Adams, Aliyu Aminu, Shaaban Hamisu and Inusa Musa Shehu. All six victims were immediately taken to the hospital and are said to be in stable condition.
Authorities have since cordoned off the area to maintain order as investigations commence to ascertain the cause of the deadly crowd movement and determine whether inadequate crowd control or negligence contributed to the tragedy.
