Court Demands 3 DNA Tests On Mohbad’s Son

An Ikorodu High Court has ordered that three separate DNA tests be conducted abroad to establish the paternity of Liam, the son of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

According to Ireporter Online, the court issued the directive following delays caused by the initial DNA testing plan, which could not proceed due to concerns over the suitability of the approved testing center.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who appeared in court with his lawyer Oladayo Ogungbe, explained that a new arrangement had been made to ensure trust and transparency in the process. Under the court’s ruling, three foreign laboratories will handle the tests: each party involved in the case will select one laboratory, while the court will appoint the third.

Ogungbe stated that the DNA tests will use tissue samples and that all three results must be consistent before the court can accept the outcome. He emphasized that this approach aligns with Mohbad’s family’s long-standing demand for an unquestionable result.

The lawyer also clarified that Joseph Aloba will not bear the cost of the tests, and all parties will be present during sample collection to prevent any interference.

Expressing satisfaction with the court’s decision, Mohbad’s father welcomed the process. While Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has maintained that Liam is the late singer’s biological son, Aloba has insisted on a DNA test to remove all doubts. The court’s ruling is anticipated to bring a final resolution to the months-long paternity dispute.
