the Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. The allegation was made public in a statement following a press conference held by the coalition in Abuja on Thursday.

CUPP’s Secretary-General, Peter Ameh, described the alleged scheme as a serious threat to democracy, accusing Wike and his associates of attempting to undermine one of Nigeria’s most outspoken opposition leaders. The coalition claims that Wike’s allies, in collaboration with security agencies, have been recruiting fake witnesses for over six weeks in Abuja to fabricate false testimonies against Ugochinyere.

Calling the plot a “desperate, low-budget Nollywood production,” CUPP argued that it would fail in its objective. They expressed confidence in Ugochinyere’s integrity, stressing that his commitment to speaking truth to power was unwavering and would not be silenced by intimidation or fabricated allegations.

The coalition also announced plans for nationwide protests to oppose the alleged conspiracy.

Ugochinyere, a vocal critic of Wike, has been particularly outspoken about Wike’s role in the ongoing turmoil within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), further fueling tensions.
