and challenge the long-standing dominance of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in fuel distribution.

Controversy Over Fuel Quality and Efficiency

A viral TikTok video posted by @valorreviews has stirred up debate regarding the quality and efficiency of fuel from different suppliers. In the video, the user tested fuel from both Dangote and NNPC stations in identical “I better pass my neighbour” generators. The results showed that Dangote petrol lasted 33 minutes, while NNPC-sourced fuel only ran for 17 minutes.

This video sparked widespread discussion among Nigerians, with many sharing similar experiences and supporting Dangote’s disruption of NNPC’s fuel monopoly. However, NNPCL dismissed the claims, stating that some of their filling stations in Lagos also source petrol from Dangote Refinery.

New Petrol Prices at Partner Stations

With the recent price reduction, the following rates will apply at Dangote’s partner retail stations:

    • ₦860 per litre in Lagos
    • ₦870 per litre in the South-West
    • ₦880 per litre in the North
    • ₦890 per litre in the South-South and South-East
  • AP (Ardova Petroleum) & Heyden Stations:

    • ₦865 per litre in Lagos
    • ₦875 per litre in the South-West
    • ₦885 per litre in the North
    • ₦895 per litre in the South-South and South-East

This reduction marks another step in the ongoing changes in Nigeria’s fuel distribution sector.
