Dangote Refinery To Refund Customers Over Petrol Price Reduction – How To Claim ₦65/Litre Refund

The refinery cut its gantry price from ₦890 to ₦825 per litre, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to stimulate economic relief. To ensure consumers benefit from this reduction, Dangote Refinery has pledged to refund ₦65 per litre on over 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS sold at the old price.

Despite the financial impact, the company stated that it would absorb a ₦16 billion loss to stabilize fuel prices and prevent unnecessary hardship for Nigerians.

“The refund policy, effective February 27, 2025, ensures that our business partners do not incur losses due to the price change. More importantly, it guarantees that the new, lower rate is immediately implemented nationwide,” Dangote Refinery stated.

Dangote Refinery urged all fuel marketers purchasing from its supply chain to pass the price reduction to consumers and warned against excessive profiteering.

“It is unfair and detrimental to Nigerians for marketers to buy at ₦825 per litre and resell at ₦945 or more. Such acts place an unnecessary burden on citizens for personal gain,” the company emphasized.

Customers who purchased petrol at inflated prices from Ardova Plc, Heyden, or MRS stations are eligible for a refund. To claim it, they should present their receipts to Dangote Refinery for reimbursement of the excess amount paid.

Dangote Refinery has also outlined the revised fuel pump prices for its distribution partners:

• MRS: ₦860 (Lagos), ₦870 (South-West), ₦880 (North), ₦890 (South-South/South-East)
• Heyden & Ardova Plc (AP): ₦865 (Lagos), ₦875 (South-West), ₦885 (North), ₦895 (South-South/South-East)

With the gantry price now at ₦825 per litre, Dangote Refinery expects that no consumer should pay more than ₦900 per litre for PMS, regardless of location.

The refinery reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality, eco-friendly fuel that enhances vehicle performance and public health.

“Our efforts align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which promotes self-sufficiency in the energy sector. We remain dedicated to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth and ensuring affordable, high-quality energy solutions for all,” the statement concluded.

Dangote Refinery assured Nigerians that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to achieve sustainable and long-term energy stability in the country.
