Dayot Upamecano Pens New Deal, Pledges Future To Bayern Munich
According to Ireporter Online, Dayot Upamecano has signed a new long-term contract with FC Bayern Munich, extending his stay with the Bundesliga champions until 30 June 2030.
Since joining Bayern from RB Leipzig ahead of the 2021–2022 season, the 27-year-old centre-back has established himself as a key player, helping the team secure three Bundesliga titles and three domestic Supercups.
Bayern Munich’s CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, praised Upamecano’s development, stating that the player has matured into a top-level talent and reaffirming the club’s international stature. “His clear personal commitment sends a strong message about our sporting direction and the cohesion within our squad,” Dreesen said.
Board member for sport Max Eberl also highlighted Upamecano’s importance to the team, noting that developing players internally is as crucial as signing new talent. “Dayot has become a top international player at Bayern, and we look forward to continuing this journey together,” Eberl added.
Upamecano, who has made 180 appearances for Bayern and earned 35 caps for the France national team, expressed his delight at remaining with the club. “I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern and continuing to play in this team. We’ve got big goals together,” he said.
