Defection Denied! Governor Mutfwang Reaffirms Commitment to PDP Amid Party Tensions”

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has dismissed speculations suggesting he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Mutfwang clarified that his cordial relationship with President Bola Tinubu and several APC leaders, both at the federal and state levels, should not be misconstrued as an indication of political realignment.

In an interview with TVC, Mutfwang emphasized that his interactions with the President are rooted in a shared commitment to the development and well-being of the Plateau people.

“My loyalty remains with the PDP. I have no reason to leave the party,” he stated. “I firmly believe in the ideals of the PDP, and my collaboration with President Tinubu stems from our mutual desire to serve the people effectively. If my performance were lacking, I doubt the President would engage or identify with me.”

He further stressed that political speculations are premature at this stage, saying, “There’s still so much work to be done for our people, and I refuse to be distracted by discussions of political alignment.”

Concluding, the governor said: “At the end of the day, only two entities will determine my political future – God and the people of Plateau State.”
