Defence Minister Breaks Silence After Meeting Tinubu

According to Ireporter Online, the minister addressed journalists on Tuesday after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, explaining that his visit was part of a routine security briefing with the President.

Musa disclosed that the meeting, which lasted about an hour, focused on the current security situation across the country, adding that President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the efforts being made by the nation’s security agencies.

He also commended Nigerians for their continued support of the armed forces, stressing that overcoming terrorism, banditry and other security challenges requires the collective involvement of citizens alongside the military and other security institutions.

The defence minister noted that the growing cooperation from Nigerians has contributed to improvements in the country’s security situation and expressed confidence that the gains recorded would continue.

Reacting to the speculation surrounding his alleged resignation, Musa categorically denied ever discussing such a move, insisting that he has no intention of leaving office.

He said he was shocked by the reports and questioned their origin, adding that appropriate legal action would be taken against those responsible for circulating what he described as false information.

According to the minister, some individuals may be uncomfortable with the progress being recorded in the fight against insecurity and are attempting to create unnecessary controversy through misinformation.

Musa maintained that security operations across the country are yielding positive results and reaffirmed his commitment to working with the armed forces and the Federal Government to sustain the ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability.
