Diri Aiding Fubara’s Revolt to Embarrass Wike – Ex-Labour Party Governorship Candidate Explodes!”

Labour Party’s 2023 Bayelsa Governorship candidate, Udengs Eradiri, has accused Governor Douye Diri of misleading the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, into disrespecting his political benefactor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

In an interview with Punch, Eradiri weighed in on the rift between Wike and Fubara, asserting that Fubara owes Wike an apology, stating bluntly that the only path forward for the embattled governor is to “kneel and beg” the FCT Minister.

Eradiri argued that Diri, who is allegedly backing Fubara’s insubordination, should instead lead by example. He noted that Diri has retained some of the longest-serving commissioners in Nigeria, out of respect for prior political agreements — a level of loyalty he believes Fubara should emulate.

“Who was Sim before Wike? In just three months, he turned against the man who made him. That’s disloyalty. Wike brought him in, unified different interests for his sake, and now he bites the hand that fed him,” Eradiri said.

He added that in Bayelsa, respect for agreements has allowed commissioners and lawmakers to serve extended terms, and questioned why Governor Diri, who honors such agreements, would encourage Fubara to defy his own political mentor.

Eradiri further criticized attempts to frame the PDP’s internal crisis as an Ijaw issue, calling it a distraction from the core problem: political incompetence. He emphasized that the ongoing feud is a party matter, involving PDP figures like Wike, Diri, Fubara, and others—not a conflict for the Ijaw ethnic group to resolve.

“You turn a PDP crisis into an Ijaw war, ban Wike from Bayelsa, yet you can’t run your own airport and still fly out from Wike’s Ikwerre land. That’s hypocrisy,” he concluded.
