Dollar To Naira Today, August 15, 2026: Black Market Rate Revealed
The exchange rate of the United States dollar against the Nigerian naira at the parallel market has remained a key point of interest for forex traders, businesses and Nigerians seeking to exchange foreign currency.
According to Ireporter Online, dealers at the Lagos Parallel Market, commonly referred to as the black market or Aboki FX market, quoted the dollar at ₦1,425 for selling and ₦1,410 for buying on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The latest figures were obtained from sources within the Bureau De Change (BDC) market.
This means customers looking to sell one US dollar to a parallel-market dealer could receive about ₦1,410, while those seeking to purchase a dollar would pay approximately ₦1,425.
Meanwhile, the official exchange rate published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stood between ₦1,356 and ₦1,360 per dollar, reflecting a notable difference between the official and parallel markets.
It is important to note that the CBN does not recognise the parallel or black market as an official foreign exchange market. The apex bank has continued to advise individuals seeking forex services to use authorised financial institutions.
Forex rates can also fluctuate depending on location, demand and prevailing market conditions. As a result, the actual rate offered by a dealer may differ from the figures reported at any given time.
