Drama As Delta PDP Supporters Fight Over Cooked Rice

On Thursday, Delta State Peoples Democratic Party supporters engaged in a free-for-all with ushers over cooked rice at a campaign ground in Asaba, the state capital.

Around 10:00 a.m., supporters waiting for the party’s state governor and vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as the governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, began struggling to obtain food packaged in a polythene bag.

The supporters were denied entry because the ushers were allegedly only concerned with catering to dignitaries.

As the bags of cooked rice were being torn apart, a fight broke out between the ushers and the supporters.

The event drew the attention of dignitaries and interrupted the governorship candidate’s speech.

After calming the situation, Okowa addressed his supporters and blamed the All Progressives Congress for causing hunger in the country.
