EFCC: Mr P Informs Court That Jude Okoye’s Wife Holds 800,000 Shares In Northside Music

A new development has emerged in the ongoing fraud case involving music executive Jude Chigozie Okoye, as the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja heard fresh testimony on Friday. According to Ireporter Online, the first prosecution witness, Peter Okoye (Mr P), told the court that the defendant’s wife holds 800,000 shares in Northside Music Limited, the company allegedly used to divert funds belonging to the P-Square group.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Jude Okoye and his company on a four-count charge linked to the alleged theft of more than $1 million in royalties and earnings. During cross-examination, defence counsel Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN) presented company account documents, but the witness insisted the accounts were jointly owned by him and his twin brother Paul, emphasizing that Northside Music was established to manage their collective interests.

Mr P said he alerted the EFCC after discovering questionable financial activities, which led to the petition and subsequent court case. He reaffirmed that Jude’s wife’s significant shareholding supports the suspicion that the company was structured to divert group revenues without their consent.

Attempts by the defence to tender additional documents linked to the original EFCC petition were struck out after the prosecution objected. Prosecutor M. K. Bashir argued that the papers, though stamped as Certified True Copies, were not filed in proper legal form. Justice Rahman Oshodi upheld the objection, ruling that the documents failed to meet admissibility standards despite originating from the Corporate Affairs Commission and being in EFCC custody.

Peter Okoye further confirmed that he made a statement to the EFCC after his lawyer submitted the petition. The court has adjourned the matter to February 20 and 27, 2026, for continuation of the trial.
