Ekiti In Shock: Community And Family Unite To Honor Late Monarch’s Legacy

A frontline traditional ruler, the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti in Ekiti State, Oba Olu Adegoke Adeyemi, Arugbajoye II, has passed on, according to IReporter Online. A family statement on Saturday confirmed that Oba Adeyemi died peacefully on Friday.

According to IReporter Online, the family paid glowing tributes to the late monarch’s remarkable leadership, wisdom, and dedication to the welfare of his people, describing his impact on the community as a lasting legacy that will always be cherished.

Oba Adeyemi, born on December 4, 1942, served as a teacher, Permanent Secretary in various ministries in the old Ondo State, and Sole Administrator of the former Ifesowapo Local Government before ascending the throne in 2009.

He was also Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.

According to IReporter Online, the family highlighted his many contributions to Aramoko Ekiti, including leadership and governance, education advocacy, community development, cultural preservation, conflict resolution, and youth empowerment.

His tenure as Alara was marked by strong leadership that fostered community unity and progress.

The statement further recognized his dedication to education, noting that as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, he championed initiatives to improve educational standards and expand access for students in the local community.
