El-Rufai In Hot Water: ICPC Links Multiple Egyptian Properties To Him (See Full List)

According to Ireporter Online, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered multiple real estate assets in Egypt linked to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. The properties are reportedly central to ongoing investigations into alleged financial misappropriations during his tenure from 2015 to 2023.

Investigations indicate that the assets include three villas and six apartments, all situated in high-end estates in Cairo, Egypt’s capital. Available market data show that villas in Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate, both in New Cairo, are valued between $1 million and $1.3 million, while apartments in Cairo Festival City are estimated at approximately $500,000 each.

Sources familiar with the probe revealed that the properties were acquired between 2021 and 2023, during El-Rufai’s time in office. Specific holdings include a villa at Arabilla Estate in the 5th Settlement area of Cairo, a villa at Banafsik Estate in the 1st Settlement area of New Cairo, a villa in Oriana II near the American University, four apartments in Cairo Festival City, and two apartments in Oriana Estate, New Cairo.

El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since February 18, 2026, as the commission continues its probe into the alleged financial misconduct. Prior to his arrest, he was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) over claims that the phone of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, was allegedly tapped.
