Faculty of Law Uniben Champions Campaign Against Rape (photos)

History was made yesterday, as the first landmark public sensitization program within the University of Benin community, was championed by the current Dean of Law, amidst Law students and lecturers.

Prof. (Mrs) Violet Aigbokhaevbo who came into power during the mid-2020 has recorded impeccable achievements; which ranges from outstanding beautification of the faculty, interior decoration and maintenance, effective tidying up of the environment, support of student affairs and welfare_such as the most memorable law week ever, renovations carried out within and around the faculty.

Building of new infrastructures such as a new car park and the ongoing student green Park beside the law library, incentive initiatives such as the one of yesterday.
The immediate past session saw her receive a fantabulous award from the university as the best Dean, this comes in recognition of her good words.

Adding to her numerous good works, Prof. (Mrs.) Violet Aigbokhaevbo, rallied around the university of Benin yesterday in celebrating the amnesty international, enlightening the general public about the new penalty for Violence against persons.

The Violence against person bill, passed into law prescribed a minimum of 12 years imprisonment as a penalty for the violence of this new law.

The sensitization program also encouraged victims to speak up, while advising that the general public should endeavour to report a rape case instead of condemning the victim. The campaign against rape also has the condemnation of sex grading in its rank; as certain t-shirts were imprinted “sexually transmitted grade is illegally obtained”.

Campaigners also received reward prices from the Dean such as the customized tshirts and other packaged edibles. Together let’s fight this menace in our society…..
