A father and his two sons have tragically lost their lives in a late-night attack on Zogu village, located in Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Sam Jugo, spokesperson for the Irigwe Development Association (IDA), confirmed the attack and expressed the community’s outrage, condemning the violence as barbaric. Jugo revealed that this incident is the ninth reported death in the region within a single week, further highlighting the escalating insecurity in the area.

In his statement, Jugo called on security agencies and the Plateau State government to take immediate action to prevent further violence and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The IDA also expressed concern over what they perceive as a deeper, more sinister motive behind these attacks, beyond mere reprisals.

As of now, spokespersons for Operation Safe Haven and the state police command have not responded to requests for confirmation.
