According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian music star Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has reflected on how fatherhood transformed his outlook on life. Speaking during a recent episode of the “Is This A Safe Space?” podcast, the award-winning singer revealed that the birth of his son at the age of 25 marked a major turning point that forced him to take life more seriously.

Zlatan admitted that the transition into fatherhood came with unexpected financial and emotional challenges. He disclosed that living in London at the time placed him under immense pressure, as he worried about his ability to sustain the growing financial responsibilities of raising a child abroad.

The “Zanku” crooner explained that becoming a father reshaped his mindset, compelling him to reassess his spending habits and focus more on financial discipline. He added that the experience made him more conscious of his future and even led to regrets over some past lifestyle choices.

“The birth of my son changed me completely,” Zlatan said. “It made me realise life had become serious, and I wasn’t ready for it. Paying rent in London at 25 was a big deal, and I was scared I might not be able to keep up, especially when people were saying I wouldn’t last more than three years in the music industry. I had to become smarter with money, reduce unnecessary spending, and start saving — even for diapers.”
