The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Minister Nyesom Wike, has approved the establishment of vetting teams to fast-track the regularisation of land allocations across Abuja’s six area councils.

This development was disclosed by the FCT Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, during the formal inauguration of the teams at his office on Friday. He stated that the Minister has issued clear instructions, mandates, and terms of reference to ensure the teams deliver results within a set timeframe.

Nwankwoeze explained that the vetting teams are expected to resolve long-standing challenges surrounding the titling of mass housing plots and ensure that individuals participating in mass housing schemes are granted legal titles to their units.

According to him, the government is committed to addressing all outstanding concerns related to allocation, regularisation, and titling within the mass housing programs of the area councils.

He added that the move is aimed at strengthening the credibility of land administration in the FCT and restoring public trust in the system, noting that Minister Wike has demonstrated the political will necessary to implement the reforms effectively.

Describing the initiative as a pivotal and irreversible step, Nwankwoeze called on developers and prospective titleholders to collaborate with the administration, reaffirming the FCTA’s commitment to efficient service delivery in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
