According to financial sources, the black market, also known as the parallel market or Aboki FX, recorded a dollar to Naira exchange rate of ₦1,400 for selling and ₦1,375 for buying on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The rates were reported by operators at Lagos Bureau De Change (BDC) outlets.

Observers noted that these rates are higher than the official rates set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which today had the highest rate at ₦1,358 and the lowest at ₦1,353. The CBN continues to caution the public that the parallel market is not officially recognized and has directed individuals to conduct foreign exchange transactions through licensed banks.

Experts advise that black market rates fluctuate frequently, so the actual price at which dollars are bought or sold may differ from the rates reported.
