Five Nigerian Content Creators Celebrated By US Embassy

According to Ireporter Online, the United States Embassy in Nigeria has honoured five Nigerian content creators for their exceptional contributions to the ‘Made in America, Loved in Nigeria’ video contest. The recognition took place in Abuja on Wednesday during an event organised by the US Consulate aimed at celebrating creativity and fostering cultural and economic ties between the two nations.

The winners announced at the event included Rasheedat Fagbenle, who secured the grand prize, alongside Tito Abumere, Janefrancis Odinkemma Ugwu from Abuja, Cyril Usheshe from Cross River State, and Timileyin Durotoye from Osun State.

At the ceremony, Lee McManis, Country Public Diplomacy Counsellor at the US Embassy in Abuja, explained that the contest was designed to strengthen economic and cultural relations between the United States and Nigeria. He highlighted that more than 100 major American companies operate in Nigeria, underscoring the growing economic partnership that benefits both countries.

“This contest is more than a showcase of American products and brands. It is a celebration of the enduring partnership between the United States and Nigeria, a partnership built on commerce, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to progress,” McManis said.

Rasheedat Fagbenle, 21, a final-year Political Science student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the recognition, describing the award as a major motivation for her creative journey.
