Freedom For Comfort Emmanson As Ibom Air Passenger Saga Takes New Turn

An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday cleared Comfort Emmanson, a passenger earlier accused of unruly conduct and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.

The decision followed the formal withdrawal of the case by the police.

According to Ireporter Online, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the five-count charge after Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court that both the complainant and the airline had decided not to proceed with the matter.

The charges had alleged that Emmanson disrupted the peace during the flight, assaulted a crew member, and engaged in conduct likely to breach public order.

Emmanson, who had pleaded not guilty at her arraignment, was formally discharged after the court granted the prosecution’s application to withdraw the case.

According to Ireporter Online, the withdrawal was based on instructions from the police authorities, effectively bringing the legal proceedings to an end.
