Fresh Setback For Atiku’s Camp As Nafiu Bala-Led ADC Uploads 2027 Presidential Candidate, Others On INEC Portal

According to Ireporter Online, Nafiu disclosed the development in a statement issued on Sunday, although he did not reveal the identities of the candidates whose details were submitted to the electoral body.

The ADC chairman stated that the move reflects the party’s determination to present credible, competent, and people-focused candidates capable of providing effective leadership if elected in 2027.

He noted that the submission represents the party’s commitment to protecting the interests of its founding and legacy members while resisting what he described as anti-democratic tendencies.

“The African Democratic Congress, ADC, under my leadership, has successfully completed the upload of our Presidential, Vice-Presidential, and National Assembly candidates on the INEC portal for the 2027 General Elections,” Nafiu said.

He added that the party remains committed to producing leaders who will promote good governance, offer purposeful leadership, and restore hope among Nigerians.

The announcement comes shortly after another faction of the ADC, led by former Senate President David Mark, revealed that it had also submitted the names of its presidential candidate and other candidates for the 2027 elections to the INEC portal.

Meanwhile, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has called on politicians with genuine intentions to serve the people to join the ADC, urging them to put public interest above personal ambitions.

Tambuwal made the statement while welcoming the immediate past Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, Isa Salihu Kalenjeni, into the ADC after he resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor maintained that politicians who believe they are working for the benefit of Nigerians and not for personal gain should have the courage to leave parties where their values are not aligned and join the ADC.

He said the party remains open to individuals who are committed to service, accountability, and advancing the interests of the people.
