Mohamed Salah has been named Premier League Player of the Season for the second time, following a spectacular campaign that was crucial to Liverpool’s chase for their record-equalling 20th English top-flight title.

The Egyptian forward clinched the award after netting 28 league goals, finishing five goals clear of his nearest rival.

Beyond his goal-scoring exploits, Salah also provided 18 assists, showcasing his all-around excellence during a season in which Liverpool remained a dominant force in the league.

As the season approaches its finale against FA Cup champions Crystal Palace, Salah is on the verge of breaking another record. He is just two assists short of matching the single-season assist record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, further highlighting his extraordinary form.

Salah’s triumph ends Manchester City’s four-year hold on the Player of the Season award. The last player outside City to win the honor was Salah’s teammate Virgil van Dijk in the 2018/19 season.

Other strong contenders included Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood, but Salah’s outstanding performance ensured his victory.

The prestigious award, decided by votes from both the public and a panel of football experts, reflected widespread admiration for Salah’s remarkable season.

This accolade adds to his first Player of the Season win in 2017-18, solidifying his place among the Premier League’s all-time greats.

Earlier this month, Salah also claimed the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year award, winning nearly 90 percent of the votes—the largest margin recorded for the prize this century.
