According to Ireporter Online, a 19-year-old Nigerian youth identified as Samuel has captured widespread attention on social media after a video showed him collecting plastic waste and cartons to raise funds for basic tiling tools needed to pursue his trade.

Samuel, who learned tiling several years ago, had been struggling to earn between ₦1,000 and ₦2,000 per bag of recyclable waste as he sought to save enough money to purchase essential equipment such as a cutting machine and a mallet to begin professional work.

His story took an emotional turn after popular content creator Bayuztv intervened, surprising the young artisan with a makeover that included a haircut, new clothing, a warm meal, and some of the tools required for his craft. The gesture reportedly moved Samuel to tears.

Further support followed, as he was presented with a mobile phone and ₦50,000 in cash, while his mother also received ₦1 million to support the family. The act of kindness triggered a wave of generosity from the public, with supporters contributing a total of ₦7.05 million to assist Samuel and his household.

In a major boost to his future, Samuel was also awarded a fully funded scholarship that will cover his education through university level, ensuring long-term academic and personal development.
