The couple, Mr. and Mrs. Alu Anzaku, had only tied the knot on April 12, 2025, making the incident a devastating end to what should have been the beginning of their new life together.

The attack occurred in remote Akaleku village, along the Lafia–Makurdi Highway, an area increasingly troubled by insecurity stemming from banditry and inter-communal strife.

As of the time of this report, the abducted woman’s location remains unknown. Family members and residents are gripped with anxiety and fear over her fate.

In a separate incident, armed bandits also abducted Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, the parish priest of St. Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, during the early hours of Thursday.
