According to Ireporter Online, Galatasaray’s medical team is set to assess Victor Osimhen today as the club aims to have the Nigerian striker ready for Monday night’s high-stakes derby against Fenerbahce.

Osimhen has spent the past ten days recovering from a hamstring injury sustained while representing Nigeria against Congo during the recent international break. The injury, which also involved internal bleeding, sidelined him for Galatasaray’s last two fixtures. His absence was particularly felt during Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise, which ended the club’s remarkable 33-match unbeaten home run.

Most of the 26-year-old’s rehabilitation has taken place in the gym, though he is expected to rejoin team training today. Coaches and medical staff will determine whether he can realistically feature in the Kadıköy clash. Reports indicate that Osimhen has expressed his willingness to “make sacrifices” to be included in the derby squad.

Head coach Okan Buruk has maintained close contact with the medical team and is eager to see his star forward return, especially as Galatasaray contend with a long list of absentees. Currently, nine players are unavailable due to injuries and suspensions, increasing the importance of Osimhen’s potential comeback.

Galatasaray have yet to score in any European matches this season without Osimhen, underscoring his critical role in the team’s attacking lineup.
