Geofluids Plc Eyes Market Revival As Investor Interest Surges
Geofluids Plc is attracting renewed interest from investors as the energy services firm rolls out a comprehensive turnaround strategy and aims for wider stock market visibility. According to market sources, the company’s shares, traded on the NASD OTC Exchange, have shown volatile yet generally upward trends.
Financial analysts attribute this optimism to corporate restructuring, asset expansion, and plans to list on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), which could potentially trigger a re-rating of the stock. Geofluids is pursuing a strategy built on three key pillars: strengthening the board, expanding business lines, and restructuring operations, all aimed at enhancing returns for investors and stakeholders.
As the company prepares for listings on multiple local and international exchanges, experts say its focus on executing a precise growth plan positions it well for long-term value creation. The Chairman and CEO, Mr. Jacob Esan, confirmed that the company is actively trading on the NASD platform and reiterated plans for NGX and international listings.
Market reports note that the stock, currently trading around N5.50, holds upside potential even if it remains on the OTC market, driven by hidden value opportunities and strategic growth initiatives. Historical data show Geofluids’ share price has ranged from N1.62 to N5.00 this year, reflecting high volatility typical of Nigerian small-cap energy stocks.
Established to supply drilling mud, barite, bentonite, and calcium carbonate, Geofluids has expanded into engineering, marketing, and project management services, attracting high-profile clients. Esan emphasized that the company’s bold turnaround strategy, including expansion into bitumen and hydrocarbon exploration, is designed to deliver sustainable growth.
The company holds significant bitumen assets in Ondo State, with potential for commercial-scale tar sand and hydrocarbon production. Analysts suggest these assets could drive a revival in the company’s fortunes. Geofluids has stabilized after a prolonged recovery phase that addressed legacy issues, redefined strategic priorities, and established sustainable operational and financing structures.
Under Esan’s leadership, the company is now guided by a versatile board with expertise spanning energy, finance, law, governance, and strategic investment, enabling a robust foundation for the next phase of growth. Recent financial reviews indicate a steady improvement in operating cash flows, from 2018 onward, peaking at N35.51 million in 2022 and remaining strong at N34.34 million in 2024. Analysts say this trend reflects improved earnings quality, working capital management, and a reinvestment-focused strategy rather than cash accumulation.
Overall, Geofluids’ ongoing strategic reforms and financial discipline signal a gradually recovering business poised for long-term growth and value creation for investors.
